Resurrection: An Artistic Exploration of War, Trauma, and Universality

Resurrection is a solo exhibition by Palestinian artist Bashar Alhroub, curated by Fortunata Calabró. Bringing together a new body of paintings created in response to the devastating events that have reshaped life in Palestine since October 2023, the exhibition explores themes of memory, trauma, loss, survival, and the possibility of renewal. Through a powerful visual language of repetition, fragmentation, and symbolic gestures, Alhroub reflects on the endurance of images and the role of artistic practice as a space of witnessing and resistance. The exhibition aims to create a platform for dialogue around contemporary Palestinian art, collective memory, and the relationship between personal experience and wider historical narratives.
